Influenster Review + Recipe: Daisy Squeezable Sour Cream

As part of the Influenster program, I get to review pretty neat stuff here and there. The latest box, the Playa Voxbox had the squeezable * Daisy Sour Cream in it.

Now, I’ve been a longtime fan of Daisy sour cream so I already knew I was going to like it, but I’d never tried the squeezable one before. I tried it on a familiar favorites to see how it measured up.

Green Onion Dip with Fritos!!

It’s really simple but one of my favorites. You’ll need:

  • Sour Cream (Daisy has a better flavor in my opinion, I’ve tried others and it just didn’t work for me).
  • Powdered Green Onion Dip
  • Kosher Salt
  • Lightly Salted Fritos (I did this one with regular Fritos and learned my lesson.)
  • Small Bowl
  • Fork

So first you squeeze out the amount of sour cream you want in the bowl.

This is where the squeezable part comes in handy because back when I used the one in the container, I had to use a spoon to scoop it out and mix in the green onion dip BUT if you want to add more sour cream, you gotta go get another spoon or wash off the one you’re using. With the squeezable one, I don’t have to do that and yes, I am that freaking lazy when it comes to food prep. It's just easier all around to have a squeezable one. Just don't squeeze too hard or you're going to end up with a bowl filled with sour cream in like, 2 seconds.

But, extra points for the squeezable Daisy Sour Cream.

Next you’ll pour in a bit of powdered green onion dip and mix with the fork. I personally prefer a fork because it mixes more evenly and you don’t have to swipe off the excess like you do with a spoon. Again, I’m lazy.

Add a pinch of kosher salt and stir again. At this point taste the dip, if you need to add more of the green onion dip then do so.

Be careful when adding more salt though because you’re tasting it without a salted chip, it’s not going to taste the same.

I would suggest trying it with one of the Fritos to make sure you don’t over salt the dip and end up eating mostly salt. This has happened to me during my trial of this recipe which is why I switched to the lightly salted ones after. *sheepish smile*

Once you get the taste you want, enjoy! I love eating this with Fritos but it also tastes great with lightly salted potato chips AND Mexican style tacos! Yum!

I found the squeezable Daisy Sour Cream at Wal-Mart.
